Tilt-and-turn window
A tilt-and-turn window opens inward two ways: tilted from the top for air, or swung open like a door.
One handle controls two modes. Turn it halfway and the top tips inward for safe ventilation. Turn it all the way and the sash swings open on side hinges. The second mode lets you clean the outside glass from indoors.
Bertrand describes them as versatile windows that can tilt inward from the top for ventilation or swing fully open inward from the side for cleaning or maximum air flow. Learn more in our tilt-and-turn windows page, and compare with a casement window. Ask how the hardware locks and how far the sash opens.
