Casement window
A casement window is hinged on one side and swings outward like a door, usually with a crank.
A casement opens fully, so you get the whole sash area for airflow. When closed, the sash presses against the frame. That gives a tight seal. Most use a crank, with multi-point latches.
Sun Windows says it offers casement windows in three of its product lines: USA / Clad Wood, Patriot / Clad Vinyl, and Series 2020 All-Vinyl. Casements pair well with awning windows in the same wall. For tall openings, check screen and cleaning access. See our casement and awning windows page. Ask about hinge type, since hardware affects how the window feels over time.
