Slim-profile (thin-frame) window

A slim-profile window uses very narrow frames and sashes to maximize the glass area and the view.

Slim-profile systems cut the frame down so the glass dominates the wall. Steel is the usual choice, since it is strong enough to carry large panes in thin sections. Aluminum systems can also offer slender frames.

The look is clean and modern, but ask about the trade-offs. Thin frames still need a thermal break to hold heat out, and big glass adds weight. Your sightline choices affect the cost and the lead time. Expect heavier glass to need stronger hardware and careful install.
