Pivot hinge
A pivot hinge is the hardware at the top and bottom of a pivot door that carries its weight and sets its swing.
Side hinges hold a door at its edge. A pivot hinge holds it near the center line, top and bottom. The floor unit takes the load. The head unit keeps the door upright and in line.
