NFRC label

The NFRC label is the sticker on a window or door that shows independently rated U-factor, SHGC, visible transmittance, air leakage and condensation resistance.

The National Fenestration Rating Council is an independent, nonprofit group that certifies the energy performance of windows, doors and skylights. Its label lets you compare products on equal terms, because the ratings come from standard test methods and not from a sales sheet.

The label lists the U-factor, the SHGC, visible transmittance, the air leakage rating and a condensation resistance score. Ask for the label for the exact size and glass you plan to buy. Our guide on how to read an NFRC label walks through each line. Compare labels only for the same size and type of product.
