Its headquarters are in Luzino, about 30 minutes from Gdansk airport. Bertrand says it serves homes and businesses in Poland, the USA and worldwide. Honey Rock Window and Door works with Bertrand and shows it on its [partners page](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/our-partners). The legal entity is Bracia Bertrand Sp. z o.o., at ul. Wejherowska 12, 84-242 Luzino. Bertrand also says it won a product award at IBS 2024. ## What does Bertrand make? Bertrand builds windows, doors and facades in four materials: wood, uPVC, aluminum and hybrids such as wood-aluminum and uPVC-aluminum. Steel appears only on entrance doors. Bertrand does not list a thermally broken steel window line. For that, see [Jada](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/our-partners/jada). Bertrand also offers a Simulated Double Hung, which gives the look of a classic double-hung window. ## What specs does Bertrand publish? Bertrand publishes many numbers, mostly in metric units. The table gives each value as Bertrand states it, with the unit it uses. Bertrand’s pages mix W/(m²K) and Btu units, so compare like with like. System Published data Source unit MB-79N Casement Thermal insulation (Uw) from 0.74 W/(m²K) MB-79N CSF Minimum visible frame width, fixed, 1.39 in (35.2 mm) inches and mm SlimLine 38 Height range, min. 23.6 in. / max. 9 ft. 10 in. inches and feet Synergic (wood-aluminum) U factor with triple glazing 0,16, double glazing 0,26, confirmed by NFRC as stated ConceptPatio 155 (lift-and-slide) Maximum sash weight approx. 661 lbs pounds MB-86N Pivot Door Concealed hinges with a load capacity of up to 500 kg kilograms Each number belongs to one system and one glass setup. Do not carry a number from one system to another. Learn the terms in [U-factor](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/glossary/u-factor) and [sightline](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/glossary/sightline). ## Which Bertrand doors suit a Dallas home? Bertrand makes pivot, sliding, lift-and-slide, folding, French and entrance doors. Pivot and lift-and-slide systems suit large openings in custom homes. Bertrand says its French doors are made from PVC and wood systems and are designed exclusively for the US market. Its entrance doors come in steel, aluminum, wooden and PVC options. Match the door to the use. A [lift-and-slide door](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/glossary/lift-and-slide-door) lifts the sash off its seals so a heavy panel slides easily. A [pivot door](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/glossary/pivot-door) turns on hinges set near the top and bottom of the leaf. Each needs a sound structural opening, so settle that with your builder early. ## How is Bertrand certified for the US? Bertrand says it is part of the NFRC Product Certification Program and the Keystone Fenestration Certification Program. Its FAQ says NFRC certification started in 2018. An [NFRC label](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/glossary/nfrc-label) lets a code official compare the energy numbers on your window. See [how to read an NFRC label](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/guides/how-to-read-an-nfrc-label). Bertrand also offers window profiles with nailing fins, which it says lets you install European windows to American standards. Bertrand states other certifications for North American requirements. Ask which ones apply to your exact system and which documents come with it. ## How do you buy and install Bertrand windows? Bertrand ships from Poland and says it has no subsidiary in the USA at the moment. It also says it does not install. A local team has to receive, handle and install the product. Ask who that team is before you sign. Bertrand states that aluminum constructions are made in 7 to 8 weeks. Plan for shipping time on top of that. It also says it specializes in custom solutions, which suits custom homes with unusual openings. Honey Rock Window and Door’s own words are “From the initial design process to the final installation”. Ask Honey Rock exactly who handles installation for a Bertrand order on your project. ## What does Bertrand warrant? Bertrand says its products come with a warranty that covers manufacturing defects, and that length and terms vary by product. The only specific term on its site is 5 years on Synergic. Do not assume 5 years applies to other systems. Get the warranty terms in writing for your system. ## What should you ask before ordering Bertrand? Bertrand’s size and weight limits are generous, but they differ by system. Use this list to settle the details with your architect and your builder. 1. Which exact system fits the opening, and what is its maximum size and weight? 2. What are the NFRC ratings for the glass package you picked? 3. What is the full schedule from order to delivery in Dallas, including shipping from Poland? 4. Who installs, and who is responsible if a part is damaged or wrong? 5. Which US documents and drawings come with the order? 6. Which parts of the warranty cover the finish, glass and hardware? Read the [planning guide](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/guides/planning-a-window-and-door-project) to line up these decisions with your build schedule. ## Next step Compare systems on the [aluminum windows](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/windows/aluminum-windows) or [pivot doors](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/pivot-doors) pages, then [start your project](https://honeyrock.multisites.ai/contact-us) or call (214) 484-9982. ## Questions people ask ### Where is Bertrand based?
