# Sightline

A sightline is the visible width of frame, sash or bar you see between the glass and the wall; slimmer sightlines mean more glass and more view.

When you look at a window from inside, the sightline is the strip of frame you see around the glass. On a sash window it includes the frame and the sash together. A narrow sightline lets the view run edge to edge.

Sightlines depend on the frame material. Steel can hold heavy glass in very narrow profiles. Wood and vinyl need more width.
